Meta’s $1 Billion Creator Fund Is Confusing
Meta, the parent company of social media giants like Facebook and Instagram, is taking huge steps in supporting the creator economy by providing incentives to their social media users.
In July 2021, Meta CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to pay creators through 2022.
The creator fund will encourage users to create, post, and share relevant content. It will focus on three main categories on the basis of quality content, engagement, and action.
However, users become eligible when they are invited to participate in the program instead of applying for it.
Meta’s expansion with social media platforms and their features comes at an unprecedented rate due to the demand for digital content. The company aims to stand out from competitors by providing incentives in live streaming, reels, fan subscriptions, shopping tools, and text-based content.
Just as they are widening their reach, the diversity of features may be confusing for social media users who specialize in specific content. This poses a problem, especially when the program is by invitation only.
The announcement added that there will be more plans to come along with this opportunity for creators to earn on their social media sites.
