Semrush acquired Backlinko in January with plans to strengthen and promote free SEO education including a new program titled "Advanced Content Marketing with Brian Dean".
Backlinko founder Brian Dean announced this recent acquisition in an email sent to subscribers. He shared how, in the midst of scaling his business, he was contacted by Semrush Marketing Senior Vice President Max Roslyakov who considered Backlinko as “one of the best online resources for content marketing.”
Dean shared how thrilled he was when he received and accepted the offer, citing that this is an opportunity to “make big changes to the business.”
As a digital training platform, Backlinko offers a variety of content. Since 2012, the site has produced educational resources about effective social media strategies, SEO generation, and digital marketing techniques.
As a toolset provider for SEO that enhances a website’s Google rankings, Semrush has its own educational hub, Semrush Academy. The recent acquisition may open doors for Backlinko to collaborate with Semrush in further upgrading their free resources for training digital and internet marketers.
Now working for Backlinko on a part-time basis, Dean expressed his support to the growing Semrush community and to help add more valuable resources to the Semrush Academy.
