The new Twitter CEO Elon Musk reinstated Jordan Peterson's Twitter account. It was months after the latter made a hateful comment about transgender actor Elliot Page.
I'm back. Thanks @elonmusk pic.twitter.com/MnWWNDACGD
— Dr Jordan B Peterson (@jordanbpeterson) November 18, 2022
Peterson said in a tweet, "Remember when pride was a sin? And Ellen Page just had her breasts removed by a criminal physician." Twitter then suspended his account for violating rules on "hateful conduct."
As you may have known, Ellen Page (old name) came out as transgender and changed his name to Elliot in 2020. Internet activists then accused Peterson of deadnaming the Oscars-nominated actor.
However, Peterson said in his video addressing the situation that he would rather "die than delete truthful tweets for cancel creeps."
It was not the first time Peterson made a conservative remark. In an episode of Joe Rogan's podcast, he likened being transgender to a "satanic ritual abuse."
The clinical psychologist is infamous for criticizing the cancel culture and is bold for his anti-trans stance.
Peterson is among many personalities whom Elon Musk reinstated on Twitter weeks after purchasing the platform.
