Colin & Samir’s YouTube GROWTH HACK

In a tweet, Colin & Samir posted a graph comparing the growth their YouTube channel receives when posting regular videos versus a YouTube short.

What they learned is that YouTube shorts got them far more subscribers than their regular content. With less time needed to create a YouTube short, this can be a great way to gain the initial audience a growing channel needs.

There are some downsides to YouTube shorts. YouTube shorts are not monetized, they also do not contribute much to YouTube's algorithm which focuses more on watch time than impressions. A creator should put out a variety of content to better leverage its platform on YouTube.
