LeadCart SHUTS DOWN People Are Pissed!

LeadCart was a shopping cart software that was launched in 2016. The product was promoted in multiple marketplaces that offer lifetime deals on apps and tools for your business. The promotions garnered a lot of attention throughout 2020/2021 with 1000's of customers investing $300 to $1000 to buy the lifetime deal. Then, in January 2022, the platform was shut down.

The startup failed, and a bunch of developers messed up and gave wrong estimates. The cofounder ran out of money. LeadCarts customers fled to social media to complain about LeadCart and the actions of the founder Mohamed Rehab Tahboub. LeadCart has been shut down since January of 2022.

Why doesn't LeadCart release its source code to its buyers? If the code is released publicly most people would not be able to deploy it. The software requires multiple servers in a complex infrastructure including an API into Stripe… It’s not built for individuals to set up. Although giving up the source code is a new trend in the LYD space Mo from DigitalThink said that he would never agree to a deal where he would give up his source code “There’s no way I would give up my source code. The source code is the main ingredient of a business. It’s an IP, you don’t give it away for anything”
